Product Core Features – What’s to Like About Andonstar ADSM302?
Thoughtful Delivery
If you are NOT impressed with a microscope delivery that comes with cables & connectors provided plus safe cushioning and is fully functional upon arrival, I do not know what will. 😄
Solid Build Without Any Wiggles and Vibration
Andonstar ADSM302 looks impressive with its smartly designed stand and assembly while having a solid build rigidity, you can expect this digital microscope to survive the rigors of daily usage.
Easy Handing and Usability
The best part that I really like is that this Andonstar microscope is fully functional even without using its software or connection to a PC or TV screen.
5 Inch Big Viewing Screen
Connection to PC/TV screen and software is not needed if you are performing simple tasks like soldering or close-up inspection of circuit boards. The image quality of their adjustable built-in screen is reasonably clear and should suffice for similar tasks with no noticeable latency.
Full High Definition Mode [1080P]
Be ready to get impressed when you connect up Andonstar ADSM302 to your big TV screen (e.g. 55″ UHD panel) for a 1080P experience. Expect to do some sharpness adjustments (low, medium, and high) using the remote control that comes with it. The low setting should work for the most part.
Do note that if you connect it to a PC screen, you will only get up to 720P resolution.
Reasonably Good Working Distance
Magnification Range of Up to 560 times
The optical magnification range of ADSM302 can go up to 200X and up to 560X if you digitally zoom your object on a PC monitor that is wider than 22 inches. Do expect to get image artifacts the further you zoom in digitally onto your object or specimen.
Goose-neck LED Lighting
With two adjustable LED illumination arms shining down both sides of your viewing object or specimen, it is impossible NOT to enjoy a very clear and concise viewing experience.
Software Tools
If you are in a situation where you will need some form of measurement (spacing in between circuit board holes) or tool for counting bacteria inside a petri dish, you will be glad to know that the calibration software that comes with ADSM302 can help you with on-screen measurements.

Who should buy it?
If you are someone who hates staring through a monocular or binocular eyepiece, a digital microscope like Andonstar ADSM302 (with a 5″ LCD screen) may be the one for you.
And if you fancy viewing your object or specimen on a bigger screen like PC/TV screen, you will be happy to know that you will get to enjoy a 1080P resolution if you hook up the HDMI cable (provided) to your TV screen.
If your line of work or hobby requires you to have adjustable lighting to fall on the object you are viewing or inspecting, you will definitely like the fact the ADSM302 comes with not one but two goose-neck illumination arms that have brightness control.
Who shouldn’t buy Andonstar ADSM302?
If you do not think you will make use of the HDMI and USB cable for the most part including the software calibration and measurement tool that come along with it, Andonstar ADSM302 should not be inside your realm of consideration.
And of course, at over two hundred bucks, if you have a budget constraint, you might want to look for one that is more affordable (with lesser features)
Is The Price Reasonable?
The ability to view your specimen with 1080P resolution on TV screen plus having adjustable LED lights with brightness control (for image clarity enhancement) is in my opinion already worth the price.
Not to mention the other features like software tools and superb work distance and great magnification range.
Andonstar ADSM302 Reviews from Existing Buyers
Some buyers mentioned that the screen of this Andonstar microscope turns bright blue with the words “PC Camera” at the center when it is connected to a PC. They consider that a waste of backlight and LCD burn-in.
Unless the microscope is connected to a PC and used over a prolonged period of time, the LCD burn-in is not really of any concern to most people.
Another group of buyers feedback that the software that comes with Andonstar ADSM302 is not really useful. Well, if the software is not useful, you do not really have to use it for the microscope to deliver its full functionalities.
Final Thoughts – Should You Buy it?
There were times where I bought something that possess excellent quality and well-thought out features despite having sub-par software features that come with it. Andonstar ADSM302 is definitely a great example of that. For the most part, it is fully functional without the use of its software. Go for it if you have good intended use of the features that come with it.What Else to Know?
